It’s all change at Dior Homme

After exiting Louis Vuitton just two months ago, Kim Jones has been appointed men’s artistic director at Dior Homme. He will follow in the footsteps of Kris Van Assche, who is stepping down after 11 years at the fashion house to “pursue new challenges” and thanks “Bernard Arnault for the trust he placed in me”.

Jones has the ability to set trends, making Louis Vuitton one of the most sought after brands in 2017/18 after collaborations with the streetwear brand Supreme and high-profile collaborations with British artists Jake and Dinos Chapman. It will be interesting to see the combination of Jones’ inspiration from contemporary culture and the previous ‘punkish street-style influence’ of Kris Van Assche and what this will result in for Dior Homme.

There have been rumours that Jones’ appointment has something to do with Pietro Beccari’s recent appointment as chairman and chief executive officer at Christian Dior Couture six weeks ago, where he worked with Kim Jones previously at Louis Vuitton. But we don’t care!! Jones pushes boundaries of menswear incorporating modern street style with luxury, which is one of the hottest trends at the moment. Cool, comfy clothing teamed with high fashion labels excites the consumer today and we are looking forward to see how he integrates this into the Dior wardrobe.
